What If You Had a Personal Trainer for Your Nervous System?
I’ve been thinking about this idea for a while: we understand the value of having a personal trainer. You tell them what you’re trying to accomplish, they look at where you are now, notice your patterns, build a program around your goals, and adjust things as your capacity changes. Nobody thinks it’s strange that a person who is already strong might still hire a trainer. In fact, sometimes the people with the biggest goals are the ones most likely to have one.
So why don’t we think about our nervous systems the same way?
Especially women who are building things. Businesses, careers, brands, teams, new versions of themselves. A lot of the women I know are incredibly capable. The problem is not that they don’t know what to do. They know. They have the strategy. They bought the course. They wrote the plan. Sometimes the thing standing between them and the next version of their life is that their body is having an entirely different conversation. “I want to be more visible,” but their nervous system says, absolutely not. “I want to charge more,” but their body is immediately wondering what happens if everybody leaves. “I want the bigger opportunity,” but unfamiliar still feels dangerous. “I want to rest,” but suddenly seventeen things need to be done first.
This is where my work has gotten really interesting to me, because nervous system regulation isn’t only about calming down. Sometimes it’s about building the capacity to stay present while something gets bigger. More visibility, more money, more responsibility, more rest, more support, more success, more being seen. Even good things can create activation when your body doesn’t have a reference point for them yet, and I don’t think the answer is always another podcast episode telling you to push through your fear. Sometimes your body needs practice.
That’s what inspired the way I’ve been thinking about private wellness sessions.
Not as “come do yoga with me once,” but more like having someone in your corner who understands the thing you’re trying to expand into and intentionally designs practices around helping your body meet you there. At the beginning, I want to know what you’re actually navigating. Maybe it’s fear of being seen, fear of failure, perfectionism, overwhelm, imposter syndrome, difficulty receiving help, or feeling like everything falls apart the second you stop working. Maybe your business is growing faster than your capacity to hold it. Then our sessions can evolve around that.
Some weeks you may need breathwork. Some weeks, restorative or yin-based movement. Sometimes you need to get out of your head and into sensation. Sometimes you need supported rest. Sometimes you need to practice taking up space. Sometimes we may spend part of a session working with the physical feeling that comes up when you imagine doing the scary thing you keep avoiding.
There isn’t one nervous system reset that works for every person every Tuesday forever, which is why I’m interested in an ongoing relationship rather than a one-off class. I want to know what you’re building. I want to know where your body hits the brakes. And then I want us to keep gently expanding that edge.
I’m creating this primarily for high-performing women and entrepreneurs because I see the particular kind of contradiction we tend to live inside. We can run a company while ignoring that we’ve needed lunch for four hours. We can handle a crisis while being terrified to send one vulnerable email. We can accomplish something we dreamed about for years and immediately start thinking about the next thing. Very impressive. Also, exhausting.
My private nervous system work is my answer to that. A kind of personal training for your capacity. I’m opening a small number of private client spaces for women who want this kind of ongoing support, with monthly sessions designed around what you’re actually navigating in your life, work and expansion.
You don’t need to become less ambitious. I’m much more interested in helping your body feel like it can come with you.
